Mohsen Farid received his BSc in Physics and Mathematics with Distinction from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt, MS and PhD ABD in Theoretical Physics from Polytechnic Institute of New York University. He has extensive industrial experiences in software development; IBM, Microsoft, MIDOR and Mitutoyo Tools and Instruments, USA. He also received a PhD in Computer Science from the Queen’s University Belfast, UK. He has served on the faculties of several universities including as the department head of Computer Science and Mathematics at Paul Quinn College. He is now with Department of Electronics, Computing and Mathematics at the University of Derby, UK and is an Associate Member of the ALICE experiment at CERN. His research interests include machine learning, particle identification, language engineering and healthcare informatics. He has published extensively in the areas of Human Computer Interaction, Data Science, Biomedical and Healthcare Informatics, Computational Linguistics including Arabic and Retail Business Analytics. He supervised many students at the PhD, MS and BS levels. Furthermore, he has always scored 85% or above in students’ feedback consistently. He also has engaged in large international projects pertaining to healthcare. Dr. Farid has received honorable mention from the US Army for work related to Breast cancer. Dr. Farid is a Senior Member of the IEEE.
